In today's lesson we were asked to look into our production name, to look into what type of thriller we want to make (niche of main stream), to think about what sort of companys we would be asosiated with (large companies, or small) and other things like logos.

When we started looking for a logo, we did come up stuck when we found afew we like, our issue was that we didnt know that we couldnt just copy and paste any image we found on the net, so, we had to detail our search to stocked images.

What we did most in the lesson was to develop a logo, when we did this, we were able to start to create an image for our group, our company. We liked the idea of using optical illusions, so we searched for some that we would be able to use.
This is the image we found, we liked the idea of having it slightly dark, to fit in with our theme of doing a thriller, but we found that we would like to fiddle around a bit with it to make it person and until it portrayed the message we wanted people to read about us. We thought about using a red tint or something that would give that effect, so we went on photoshop and had a play. Doing this also meant we were able to get to used to this new software. I personally like the idea of the ICON's (a production company's) reputation, what it makes, and the logo it has  I love the feel of this, and the way it looks old and painted and that idea you are being watched, thats the image i wanted our groups and companies logo to have.

I also like the idea of targeting the same market as Icon. They have done films like The Davinci Code and Angles and Demons. Both of these are niche films, but due to the books doing so well it was well re-sieved by the mass of the UK population, but the film itself retains all aspects of being a niche film, as this is the sort of film that isnt a easy watch, you have to think all the time.

Due to us liking the idea of optical illusions, we thought of 3 names for our company;
Optical productions/Distribution
Illusion Productions/Distribution
Apollo Production/Distribution

The first 2 are i think quite apparent why we like them, as i have expressed in this post that we like the idea of optical illusions and the message it gives out, but Apollo on the other hand must look like we have made no effort to make another name, but that is not true, being a Greek god, he is all powerful and people worship/ed him, yet, no one knows he is real, there is no proof, but there are some that insist gods are real. So we feel this would be, if chosen, an appropriate name
